What does Essent do?
In addition to supplying electricity for electric cars, the Essent power company also plays an important role in the transition to a more sustainable future. Driving electric can make a major contribution to achieving this transition. That is also the reason why Essent is investing so much time and energy in driving electric.
Pilots
For example, we are investing in electric lease and company cars for use in our fleet. Essent and a variety of partners are also working on the actual electric transport infrastructure, for example in the form of charging locations.
More sustainable energy thanks to driving electric
As regards sustainable energy, Essent is both the leading producer and supplier in the Netherlands. For production we primarily use wind and biomass. At the moment there are little to no possibilities for storing the wind energy generated. However, driving electric vehicles does offer the option of storing this energy in the car's batteries, which in turn can be a huge incentive for the production and use of green energy. Together with universities, the network operators and other partners we are researching the way in which driving electric facilitates the use of more sustainable energy.
