The benefits of driving electric

Electric cars are clean, noiseless, odourless and affordable, and show an excellent performance.

Clean

Conventional cars work by burning gas, petrol or diesel. Electric cars are powered solely by electricity which can be generated using a number of fuels, including sustainable sources such as biomass.
By using electricity, electric cars emit substantially less CO2, particulate matter and other hazardous materials. In fact, using only sustainable sources to generate electricity, such as wind and the sun, makes electric cars completely CO2 neutral.
Electric transport is also highly energy efficient because electricity power stations convert fuel into useful energy more efficiently than a car's combustion engine. Electric cars are actually powered using electric motors which convert a lot more of the energy produced into motion rather than heat. This makes the yield of electric motors a lot higher than that of combustion engines.

  • Noiseless and odourless

The fact that electric cars do not emit any CO2 and particulate matter locally means they improve the residential and living climate. In addition, electric cars make almost no noise and produce no odour.

  • Affordable

Electric cars are considerably cheaper to use and maintain than conventional and hybrid vehicles. The fuel costs and with that the costs per kilometre are a lot lower. An electric car has fewer moving parts and therefore experiences less wear and tear. The purchase price will also drop in the coming years thanks to the ever-growing demand for electric cars and the technical developments.

Excellent performance

Electrically-powered cars are often faster and more powerful than models powered by fossil fuels. This is because an electric motor converts energy into motion more efficiently. In addition, an electric motor is lighter than a conventional combustion engine.
The performance of the battery is also improving all the time. Once the battery has been charged, an electric vehicle can already travel around 250 kilometres. Technical developments mean it will soon be possible to travel just as far after charging as on a tank of diesel or petrol.

Only one conclusion is possible and that is that electricity is the most powerful motor of sustainable mobility.
