Vedis and Bakker Repair Services winners of the Essent Contractor Safety Award
Maasbracht, 19 November 2009 - The Vedis Industriële Reiniging and Bakker Repair Services companies have won the Contractor Safety Award 2009. This prize is awarded annually to companies that perform work for Essent. This is the fifth consecutive year that the prize has been awarded.
The Contractor Safety Award is awarded in two categories. Vedis Industriële Reiniging won the prize in the ‘more than 10,000 hours worked’ category and Bakker Repair Services received the prize in the ‘less than 10,000 hours worked’ category. During a festive gathering at the Claus Power Plant in Maasbracht, Roger Miesen, Director of Production, awarded the prizes to the two companies.
Based on the performances achieved in the area of safety and quality, Vedis received the best supplier assessment, thus winning the Contractor Safety Award. The jury also commended the excellent approach in preparing and implementing the assigned work, the professional attitude of staff and the way in which they deal with the HSE policy (Health Safety Environment).
Bakker Repair Services received the Award for its distinct and active contribution to Essent's Safety Barometer and HSE procedures. In addition, the company assisted in the improvement of preventive measures for the prevention of incidents.
About the Contractor Safety Award
Through the annual prize, Essent emphasis the importance that it places on safety and quality in the everyday work at its production sites. In addition, through this prize, the company opens the dialogue with its contractors in order to continuously improve its safety policy.
