Statement as a result of the article in Het Financieele Dagblad from 21 Oct 2006

As announced in March Essent has the ambition to become a strong player in the North West European energy market. To achieve this Essent is looking for cooperation with equal partners. Therefore we are in discussions with relevant parties.

Statement as a result of the article in Het Financieele Dagblad from 21 Oct 2006

Essent prefers to start this journey with a Dutch company. However, until now discussions have not led to a concrete result. 

At this moment Essent will not and cannot disclose any further information.
