Mira Huussen Director of New Energy Essent

On 1 February, Mira Huussen (38) will become the Director of the New Energy business unit at Essent.

After having completed her MBA at the Harvard Business School, Mira Huussen worked, amongst others, as a manager at the Office of Energy Regulation at the Dutch Competition Authority and for the department of Market Forces at the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Mira Huussen will take over the responsibilities of Alexandra van Huffelen, who will leave Essent on 1 February.

The business unit which Mira Huussen will lead consists of two teams: Innovations and Electric Transportation. Innovations researches new technologies related to energy production and efficient energy utilisation, such as the application of new sustainable fuels, the storage of energy and the use of smart decentralised energy systems.

Electric Transportation is aiming for the rapid introduction of electric transportation in the Netherlands. The subsidiary has started sustainable mobility pilots with municipal authorities, employees and the business community. Additionally, the team coordinates developments relating to electric transportation within its own organisation.
