Hundred electric scooters from Den Bosch to Copenhagen
300 young people in relay trip to climate summit to promote sustainable world
14 October 2009 - How can electric transport help to make the world more sustainable? Some 300 young people will attempt to answer this question during an electric scooter trip that will lead them from the Netherlands to Denmark.
The Road To Copenhagen (www.theroadtocopenhagen.com), as the trip has been dubbed, will begin on 2 December and end on 15 December in Copenhagen, where the UN Climate Conference COP15 will be held.
During the journey, the young people participating will collectively contemplate and discuss climate objectives, a more sustainable world and practical solutions that will make our lives more pleasant and more sustainable. Along the way the participants will meet inspiring people and visit innovative projects. The outcome of The Road To Copenhagen will be a manifesto, to be presented to the negotiators in Copenhagen.
The initiator of the journey is energy company Essent. Young people between 18 and 25 can sign up for the scooter trip until 20 October at: www.theroadtocopenhagen.com
