Football club FC Groningen opens doors skybox to Facebook users
Dutch football club FC Groningen opens the doors of its directors box in its Euroborg stadium to Facebook users. Two fans of the premier league club have a chance of seats reserved especially for users of the social network. This will happen for the first time during the Derby of the North: the match against sc Heerenveen on Saturday the 31st of March.
The Facebook users will take a seat in between prominent FC Groningen players and will literally be sitting 'on top of' the match. In addition, they can, of course, also enjoy a snack and a drink. And you are only ever a step away from a ‘meet & greet’ with a top football player in the so-called ‘Arjen Robben skybox’, the skybox in which the club’s management entertains special guests. Robben, now a prominent player of the German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich, started his professional career at FC Groningen.
Win by claiming a seat in the Euroborg
The promotion is a joint initiative of energy utility Essent, FC Groningen and the Euroborg stadium. To stand a chance of a place in the special seats, users of Facebook have to ‘Like’ Essent's Facebook page, and claim a seat in the virtual Euroborg.
Essent and FC Groningen: together totally green
Since the beginning of the 2011-2012 season, Essent has linked up with FC Groningen as the main sponsor for three seasons. Not only does the energy utility's name adorn the club's shirts, but both parties are also working together intensively to give shape to FC Groningen's green and sustainable ambitions.
