Essent to launch Xpress: innovative bilateral trading application for counterparties

Essent Energy Trading, the trading arm of Essent NV, Netherland's largest energy company is close to launching Xpress, a sophisticated new bilateral trading application that will allow its counterparties to trade certain products online with Essent. This initiative will add transparency to illiquid energy markets and non-standard products by providing real time pricing on an encrypted bilateral trading platform. Xpress will be completely launched in November 2006. Participation will be by invitation.

Xpress will provide a product menu with innovative opportunities for asset optimization, risk management and trading that will improve service for counterparties in a variety of markets, including energy distributors, grid companies, utilities, aggregators, Merchant Energy businesses and commodity trading houses.
