‘Essent Supplies’ new Essent campaign

Today, energy utility Essent launched its new campaign ‘Essent Supplies’ (in Dutch: ‘Essent Levert’). In full page advertisements in Dutch newspapers and in radio and television commercials on Dutch national channels, Essent announces that, as an energy service provider with specific products and services, it focuses on lowering consumers' energy bills.

‘The Dutch energy market has changed; we form part of the international RWE and the wishes and needs of consumers change’, said Dorkas Koenen, director of Marketing at Essent, talking about the reasoning behind the new campaign. ‘Extensive research has revealed that consumers want specific and smart energy services and products resulting in structurally low energy bills, which also take the environment into account. We also find that the energy market has constricted itself too much, with there now being a somewhat coarse and fiery focus on electricity and gas supply tariffs, whilst the focus should actually be on structurally lowering the energy bill and contributing sustainably to the environment. Purely the lowest price per kilowatt hour of power, or per cubic metre of gas says absolutely nothing, whereas a structurally lower energy bill does, because that is what the consumer ultimately pays. We can see to that, hence the Essent Supplies campaign.’c

7 campaigns

Up until the end of this year, Essent will be launching 7 campaigns, in which energy-saving and the resulting energy bill lowering services will be taking the lead: smart thermostats, insulation products and the ‘VerbruiksManager’ (Consumer Manager).
