Essent: slight fall in energy rates January 2011

More than 10,000 customers apply for the Smart Thermostat

Den Bosch - Essent anticipates a small fall in energy rates for gas and electricity on 1 January 2011, this is despite the rise in oil prices during the past months. Through that, Essent is in line with the media reports about this earlier this week.

This will mean that customers will benefit from a lower energy bill. In order to keep energy bills persistently lower, Essent provides its customers with various smart and specific energy services and products, such as the Smart Thermostat and home insulation that can lower energy consumption by 20 to 30 percent respectively.

Essent is currently conducting a large-scale campaign which focuses on consumers, small and medium-sized enterprises and large-scale enterprises: Essent Supplies. More than 10,000 customers have already requested a Smart Thermostat from Essent. There is also a lot of interest in the current campaigns involving home insulation and the SME Energy Savings Plan.

Essent will announce its definitive energy prices in December.
