Essent Netwerk to be called ENEXIS

Essent Netwerk (Grid company), which is responsible for the development, maintenance and management of the Essent distribution grid, will operate independently from 1 January 2009 under the name of ENEXIS.

Nothing will change for the customers and business relations of the Grid company nor for those of Essent. In the course of 2009 the Enexis house style will become more and more visible and recognisable.

The creation of an independent grid company is the consequence of the Network Management Act (Wet Onafhankelijk Netbeheer (Splitsingswet)). This act stipulates, among other things, that as of 1 January 2011 energy production, trading and supply companies may no longer belong to the same group as network companies.

The Grid company has always focused on its social duties and responsibility: a smooth, safe distribution of gas and electricity and good customer service. Enexis develops the technology that will prepare the distribution grids for the future. In this way Enexis is preparing for sustainable energy provision together with the authorities and the supervisory body.

Campaign

Enexis will start up a modest regional media campaign on 5 January 2009 to make its name more widely known. All the customers have received a letter regarding the change of name.
