Essent concentrates its Dutch office activities at five sites

In forthcoming years, Essent intends to concentrate its Dutch office activities at five sites dispersed throughout the Netherlands: Den Bosch, Groningen, Zwolle, Roermond and Utrecht.

Following its merger with RWE, Essent conducted a site study over the past months. This study, which is a further elaboration of a site study conducted by Essent in the past, has mainly been set up for reasons of travel time optimisation. The study has revealed that the new organisation would profit the most from fitting out five branches to enable flexible working.

Office sites

At the moment, Essent and RWE Nederland (which was integrated into Essent) have 13 office sites at 11 locations. The branches that will close during future years are those in Almere, Helmond, Arnhem, Heerenveen, Zwolle (2 offices), Hoofddorp and Honselersdijk.

Benefits

The new site policy will provide a multitude of benefits. Essent CEO Peter Terium: ‘Through a significant decrease in the number of travel kilometres, we will place much less of a burden on the environment, our staff, the road network and other road users. Additionally, we wish to intensify the flexible working opportunities for our staff. This will improve the work-life balance and enables flexible and efficient use of office buildings.’

Less operational costs

In the new situation, Essent is able to manage with considerably fewer workstations and square metres of office space. This, in combination with the decrease in the number of travel kilometres, will result in a significant fall in operational costs.

Production sites and Belgium

Essent's production sites (wind farms and power plants) in the Netherlands do not form part of the new site policy. Neither do our sites in Belgium.
